Hello my dear travel buddies. In this blog post i would like to share all my experiences about the trip to Manali visited by me with my friends. I am going to also cover the places to visit, actual amount that would cost you for the trip within budget and share some important information about the hotel owners for your hassle-free pre-booking for your stay in Manali with the most affordable price you can get even before you start the trip.
To Begin with we started our journey from a railways station located in peddapalli, which is near our hometown. We were a group of four people and randomly decided to go on a trip to Manali and we made it happen. We manually brought the tickets in the railway’s tickets booking office from Peddapalli to Delhi which nearly cost us around 1500 rupees per person for 3tier AC Sleeper-Class. As we started our journey, for our surprise the train was delayed for 4 hours. We spent the time railways station doing some fun activities until boarding.
Delhi
Finally, we reached Delhi, By the we crossed lot of beautiful places and states on our way and had a lot of fun during the journey. But it also turned out to be a combination of good and worst memories during the ride. As we reached halfway, it was like 2 to 3 am in the Moring and since it was winter season the temperature dropped a lot, that was new for us since we live in the south. We literally covered ourselves with 2 blankets and those were also not enough. One of my friends wanted to go back home due to that unbearable freezing cold temperature. After enduring for about 3 hours of chilling temperature, the train stopped at some random place. The sun rays rising that day with bliss of heat felt like life saver for us, we got down the train and stood in the tracks enjoying the sun rays. That was really an experience we would never forget in our lives.
We had lunch in Delhi at a nearby hotel adjacent to the railway station. It cost us around 600 rupees for four people to have a proper meal. Later we went to Kashmiri gate bustand booking an auto with costs around 30 rupees per person 120 for four. There were direct buses to Manali from the bus stand.
BEWARE OF BUS SCAM IN DELHI BUS STAND
Some people will randomly approach you and insist that they would drop at the location with half the amount. But they will drop you halfway only, this had happened with my friends who previously visited Manali. The bus Fare is around 1500 per person, AC SLEEPER BUS. I suggest you book the ticket at the bus-stand instead of paying these random people. By the time we reach Kullu the scenic visuals of beutiful snow mountains and rivers flowing will take away breath. We literally felt like enduring all those journey and bonebitng cold was worth it. A moment of joy and mesmerizing scenic views will make you feel like you are in the heaven.
TAXI RIDE FROM BUS STAND TO HOTELS
There will be lot of taxi drivers approaching you after you get down in Manali. We negotiated and paid 150 rupees for 6 of us to drop us near mall road hotels which are nearly around 3kms from starting point. Kindly dont get scammed by those taxi drivers. Some of them will chare like 500 just ignore them.
We stayed in one moderate hotel with basic amenities like gizer for hot shower, kingsize bed , room heater available charge 200 per day. And the stay in the hotel cost us 1000 per day which was pretty affordable for four of us. The Contact number of the owner is 1234567890. Do mention that you the number from us shwing him our youtube video. He will help you in the accomodation for your stay.
BREAKFAST LUNCH AND DINNER CHARGES
In Manali you can get a breakfast which costs like 50 rupees which can be bread omlete , momos , and several others if you wanna try. We had typical bread-omlet a lot. There is also chaptis and parathas with potato curries.Luch and dinner would be same like , they would call it thali , which costs 100 per plate. In that thali you get unlimited rice chapatis , parathas and four different curries.
TREK TO HAMDIMBA TEMPLE AND DHUNGRI VAN VIHAR (SNOW MOUNTAINS)
We stated early in the morning since we decided to go by walk to dhugri van vihar which is around 3 kilometers away from mall road.We had our breakfast and then stated walking. By the way you can book a cab and go directly to van vihar which can cist around 250 to 500 per ride for 4 people. We decided to see the local culture and beauty so we walked. We came across a lot of high class hotels on our way and forests and local shops of clothing and groceries. You can check out the youtube video for the live experience. Upon reaching the location there is climb of 200meters has steps to reach to the top.Where you can the see th hadimba temple. You can click photos with rabbits on the way which costs around 100 for a shoot. There will be stalls on the way of clothing and handmade products by locals and also some food stalls.
There is no ticket to enter into the temple, meanwhile you can rent a local people wear costume and have a photoshoot. After visiting the temple we went furthur up to reach dhungri van vihar which is a huge forest with snow and tallest trees i have seen in my entire life, The view was so beutiful and heartwarming.I have got the most peacefull feeling in that forest with purest air th breath and rest for while like clicking pause button in life and relax.
